About us

Kildare Tap is Saragh Mahady.

About me:

I have been learning tap for over 20 years. Initially American rhythm tap style, in America and here in Ireland. I studied with Diane Richardson here in Ireland and with Heather Cornell (among others) in the States.

About 10 years ago, I started working on my ISTD journey, learning syllabus tap, and working towards my Diploma in Dance Education.

I have been a part of Team Ireland since 2021, with Kerry Tap Ensemble and Dr Trish Melton. I competed in the IDO European Championships for Team Ireland in June 2023, receiving a bronze medal for Adult 2 groups.

I've tapped at Perform Ireland for the last four years. As part of preparation for those performances, I was lucky enough to learn routines from Josh Hilberman and Lisa La Touche.

I love tap dance and learning and developing along my journey, and I feel that completing my DDE qualification will not just improve my tap, but allow me to teach students effectively and steer them through their exam preparation successfully
